Sue's Testimony

I grew up in a denominational church, and for 40 years I thought that I was a good person going to heaven when I died.  I was baptized as a baby, went to Sunday school, got confirmed, and even served as an assistant to the Pastor.  Little did I know that I was a sinner on my way to hell!   John 3:3 says, "Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'"

I was hooked on alcohol and antidepressants to alleviate my pain from loneliness and depression because I was looking for love my husband and my family couldn't give me. 
One day, I was sitting in church thinking to myself, "Who is God?  Who is Jesus?"  I didn't know at the time that God was preparing my heart.  In John 6:44, Jesus says, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."

God opened up my heart, my eyes, and my ears to His Son, Jesus Christ, on February 26, 2001.  On that day, I gave my life to Jesus and accepted Him into my heart.  He instantly delivered me from alcohol, and from the antidepressants two months later!  Praise God!  Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

I have two beautiful children from my first marriage:  Sara, who at the time of this writing, is 14, and Chris, who is 11.  They continue to inspire and challenge me by their love for God, and their need for Jesus. 

Lee and I were married November 10, 2002 and have been so blessed ever since.  I give God all the praise, honor and glory that He has given me a heart to love Him, and to have a relationship with people, and love them, too.  Ezekiel 36:26 says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
